Affiliate Marketing Commissions – How to Get Paid More
It is not uncommon for affiliates to think that they should be paid more for all the hard work that they are doing driving traffic to merchants' websites. Well there are a number of ways that you can increase your Affiliate Marketing contracts with very little effort.
First you could examine the affiliate programs that you are promoting. You may find that you are promoting a book from Amazon and only earning 5% responsibilities on it. On the other hand you could swap that it for a similar digital product from the ClickBank marketplace that could earn you anything up to 75% commission.
But there is another factor that you also need to take into account. That is the conversion rate on the merchant's site. Even if you send lots of traffic to a merchant and they pay a good commission, if their site does not cover you will not get paid.
You can get the best feel for conversion rate by testing and tracking your own statistics. But you can also analyze the EPC (earnings per click) figure that is published for each merchant by affiliate networks like Commission Junction and Shareasale. This figure will give you an indication as to what their conversion rate is like.
If you are driving lots of traffic to a merchant, do not be afraid of contacting the merchant's affiliate manager and discussing how you could work together to increase sales. They may willing to give you a higher commission percentage. This could allow you to run more campaigns, and turn marginal campaigns into money makers.
The final thing that you can do is look at the type of offers you are promoting. If you're getting paid for every sale that is made on a product, would you actually be better off offering promotions that are on a 'pay per lead' basis? For example, rather than getting paid for every mortgage that completes, you could have paid for every mortgage lead that you send to a company. The payout per lead will be less but you could easily make up for this with increased volume.
Increasing your Affiliate Marketing responsibilities is an on-going process. By following these steps you can start putting more money in your pocket with very little extra effort.
